BSA Climbing Instructor CampTaking your unit climbing requires more than just having the right equipment! It requires qualified instructors to ensure a safe trip. By training as a BSA Climbing instructor you will be able to take Scouts out to experience the challenges of climbing & rappelling and have an active climbing program in your local unit or be active with district or council sponsored climbing/rappelling activities. Participants must be 18 to gain instructor certification. (16 year-old Scouts can attend with an accompanying adult.)
The course goal is to ensure that you can safely and effectively manage a climbing program for your camp, district or unit. It will help you to solidify your knowledge of climbing and to bring it into line with the current policies of the BSA.

The Woodbadge training is an opportunity to strengthen your Troop by magnifying your scouting and personal leadership skills. It is scoutings premier training course. Wood Badge for the 21st Century is not your parent's Wood Badge. Gone are the hours of crafts and knot tying, replaced by leading edge teaching, team building, management and leadership skill building sessions. The course was re-developed by the National Council and was written by some of the country's best corporate trainers and authors. It remains the most advanced leader training that the Boy Scouts of America offers. Our council is offering a spring 2011 course. Save the dates: Weekend 1 dates: April 29-May 1 at Camp Clark Weekend 2 dates: May 13-15 at Camp Cooper The cost will be $195.00. A deposit of $85.00 is required when registering.
